Northern Ireland –
I was approached by WEA Northern Ireland to facilitate a photographic project looking at identity and self-reflection in the older community. I devised a project on the themes: Self Portrait, My World, Transitions and My Dreams and helped the participants realise these themes photographically. This project also included intergenerational workshops with children from a local school as well as a separate photography project with the children as an introduction to the exhibition. For this I divided the children into pairs – and the children took it in turns to be both the sitter as well as the photographer. The work was then exhibited at the school as a digital projection exhibition. The children then worked off the Unwrapped exhibition at the Void Gallery and created their own pictures using a range of media such as paint, collage etc.
